2 Timothy 3:16-17New International Version (NIV)
16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.Hebrews 4:12New International Version (NIV)
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.John 1 King James Version (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.Genesis 1 King James Version (KJV)
1 In the beginning God created the heaven
and the earth.
2 And the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon
the face of the waters.3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
John 17:17New International Version (NIV)
17 Sanctify them by[a] the truth; your word is truth.Every reference to "the word" or "the word of God" or "the Word of the Lord" in the New Testament is either logos or rhema, both of which mean "words spoken by a living voice."
Heb 11:3
Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all their host by the breath of his mouth. Psalms 33:6. Notice! The word of the Lord is a "his" — the word is a living being, not a book, not a writing, not the Bible, not a scripture.
The above two verses prove that the word of God or the word of the Lord is the Lord Jesus Christ, who created all things in heaven and earth, and whose name is "the word of God."

Peter 1:23,25
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, by the word of God that lives and lasts forever.
23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed but of incorruptible, by the word of God that lives and lasts forever.
The
Bible does not live and last forever, but Christ, the Word of God,
does live and last forever.
You cannot be born again by scripture, reading or hearing it read; but you can be born again by the Spirit, as you respond to hearing and obeying the Spirit, or the word of God within your heart.
The word is the Spirit of Jesus, not a scripture.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is logou (from logos) <3056>: 1) of speech; 1a) a word, uttered by a living voice, embodies a conception or idea; 1b) what someone has said.

The
Bible does not endure forever, but Christ, the Word of God,
does endure forever.
The word of
God is not motivational speech.
It is power;
it is the sound of the living; the effect that is evidently visible in the life
of him who believes.
Motivational
speech deals with your intellect and offers a soothing effect that is momentary
and waxes of with time.
The word of
God on the other hand may not excite and at times may baffle you.
It is a
scalpel under the arms of the master surgeon.
It is not
impulsive, but powerful and active.
It does not
act out of conjecture, but out of the skillful art of the greatest scientist,
the master architect of the world. Jehovah is his name. Mighty power, great in
battle, Jehovah is his name.
Before action
and you know it is quick, sharp and active i.e. alive. It analyses the
situation case by case, diagnosing item by item that needs to be attended to.
When the
sure and you know God is never wrong neither does he do guess work in his
judgments, he identifies the kind of medication to prescribe.
Jesus speaks
of His word abiding in you.
Paul said: "The word is near you, even in your mouth, and in your heart [so you may obey it]; that is, the word of faith, which we preach. " Rom 10:8. Where is the word again?
It is not in heaven, that you should say, 'Who shall go up for us to heaven, and bring it to us, that we may hear it, and do it?'
Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, 'Who shall go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we may hear it, and do it?' But the word is very near to you, in your mouth, and in your heart, so that you may obey it. Deu 30:11-14.
What good did studying the scriptures do for the Jews? They had the scriptures, but they grossly misunderstood them because they were not listening to the word of God in their hearts to teach them; instead they were searching the scriptures. So in colossal error they crucified the Holy One of Israel, just as the Christians of England and America killed, imprisoned, and seized the property of the early Quakers; the Christians read the scriptures too, but they too were not listening to God, and so they hunted and killed many early Quakers that had the Spirit of Christ risen in them to govern their words and deeds.
You can read the Bible until you have it totally memorized, but the word, (which is a living voice), will not be abiding in you.
Revelation
19:12-16
His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.
And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.
And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
And he has on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.
So Jesus and his Spirit is the Word of God, not the Bible!

Ephesians 6:17
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
The Greek for word in this (click to see) verse is rhma (from rhema) <4487>: 1) that which is or has been uttered by the living voice, thing spoken, word; 1a) any sound produced by the voice and having definite meaning; 1b) speech, discourse; 1b1) what one has said.
And a sword will pierce through your own soul also--that the secret thoughts and purposes of many hearts may be brought out and disclosed. Luke 2:35. Repent; or else I will come to you quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth. Rev 2:16. And out of his mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: Rev 19:15.
So, the sword of the spirit is not the Bible; it is the spoken words from the mouth by the Spirit of Christ, the Word of God.

When the
decision God arrives at is that of facing the scalpel, beloved you better
prepare yourself and stop procrastinating. There is no convincing God of
substitutes; taking tablets or even going for the injection.
No surgeon
worth his salt ever fears tearing into the skin of the patient to open it up to
attend to the nagging problem because the patient will feel pain. With courage,
he tears into the skin right into the tissues, the organs fixes them, closes
the wound, bandages it and prescribes sessions of re-examination on the
progress of the wound. During this time stretching parameters are prescribed.
Wounds take time to heal. Proverbs 27:6King James Version (KJV)
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.
Friend, this
is the place we are this morning, some with fresh wounds, some partly healed
and other left with the marks that reminds us where we have been.
Only the
word of God is able to address this case effectively.
Allow me to
mention that sitting under the voice you are hearing this morning is sitting
under the authority of The Most High God.
The word I
bring us this morning is not my researched work. It is not my choice, I would
have gone for something inspirational.
The lord
simply compelled me to stop what I was doing and write down these words letter
after letter.
I heard it
flow just the way a river flows down its course.
Many at
times we have heard the Lord speak to us and shrugged it off and said “Hiyo ni
yake”
Many at
times the warning of God and not dictated as final the way human beings give
final warning. We have remained un-moved and stiff necked promising ourselves I
am ok.
And so God
sends us his word saying as a surgeon, I have come down to circumcise your hearts
we start giving excuses and postponements.
Our
sacrifice cannot replace the obedience that Yahweh expects of us
Surgeons and
good one for that matter do not open the skins of men for fun; neither do they
do it as a hobby.
Here it is
matter of either life or death.
With men
even critical decisions do not await the signature of the next of kin for an
operation to take place as it were.
Some of them
are critical and very urgent medical they have to be treated as such.
God in his
own judgment likewise looks at us at does not wait to remedy our situation.
When he
speaks you better listen or face the consequences.
Beloved, we
are at cross roads.
They say
chance and opportunity appears only once.

danger; the other for opportunity. In a crisis, be aware of the danger--but

Take
advantage when it so lasts
Never take
the work of God in your life for granted
Are you
stuck in the valley of decision? Allow the surgeon to undertake the operation.
For sure their
will be some pain as the pieces of flesh struggle to come together. There will
be some privileges denied, but remember denial is not delay. God’s desire is
that you become his righteousness.
This demands
that the word be your guide.
Like David
learn to hide his word in your hearts that you might not sin against him.
Let god
carry out the purging exercise.
No
complaints, no fears, no suggestions and no postponements neither proposals.
I realize

But my
father is not about to start this business of killing pain
He uses pain
to humble us when we cannot enforce the word and live with it.

The Vine and the Branches
15 “I am the true vine, and my
Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in
me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so
that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You
are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain
in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must
remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
5 “I am the vine; you are the
branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart
from me you can do nothing. 6 If you
do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers;
such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. 7 If you
remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be
done for you. 8 This is to my Father’s glory,
that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

God is not
going to make sure you’re dead asleep before he carries out his intended
operation.
So you
better be prepared. He will come earlier than expected.
This allows
him time to do his work efficiently and effectively without disturbance.
He never
makes any mistake in his assignments.
David
confesses and says in Psalms 139:14: “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully
and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right
well”.
Friends, our
opinion, thoughts and comments are not going to change the situation. The thing
is I better change or sheep out.
The lord wants
to operate on your heart.
Please lie
on the operating table and allow him do his work.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
Thus will he declare his will for you as in Jeremiah 29:11-141 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.
13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
14 And I will be found of you, saith the Lord: and I will turn away your captivity, and I will gather you from all the nations, and from all the places whither I have driven you, saith the Lord; and I will bring you again into the place whence I caused you to be carried away captive.
This will is no subject to my feeling not even my disposition.
For God to start thinking and making plans for you and I, we must be aligned to his sovereign will.
Leave and abide in the vine
Then will we achieve the status of Ephesians 6:10 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God”:
Ephesians 6:3
3 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
Let us stand up.
