JESUS, THE FISH AND FISHERMEN

John21.1-14

THEME:-Depending on God

What is it you have left?

 Mark 10.28-29 ‘Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said Verily I say unto you. There is no man that has left house or brethren, or sisters, or father or mother, or wife, or children or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s’.

The disciples decided now that Jesus is dead our hope are also gone.

And so they decided what next?

-let us go back to our normal

-let us play life as it were.

-he on whom we depended and controlled our lives is gone

-there is hopelessness, fear, anxiety and stress

-however, life has to continue

-so they go down into the sea and fishing is the next exercise

Suddenly Jesus appears from no where

He speaks to them but they cannot recognize His voice

But john takes a keen listening and with his deep love, closeness, understanding recognizes what the others missed out

He recognizes Jesus

Jesus’ voice is distinct and can thus only be recognized by the quality of our relationship.

It cannot be done by mere rhetoric

It has to be serious relationship inter-linked in the way we live, relate and above our spiritual inclination-prayer, fasting and thanksgiving etc.

Without these key ingredients, you will have problems recognizing Jesus.

And this is where most us are.

You have cried all night, pained thinking in and cancelling out

Then Jesus appears

Jesus does things contrary to the normal, verse 4

It is during the day that they caught more fish than had happened at night

Allow me declare that today and now has your morning come

And because it is a morning then be prepared for a new thing, something that you are not used.

An extra-ordinary action in your life!

Jesus is around to wipe your tears away. Crying may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning

Jesus is around to patch up your rags. It is time to be made whole.

Remember wherever he went he was doing good.

Today is not exceptional1

Beloved something new and special is about to be unleashed for you

You have to be ready and prepared to receive and partake of it.

Halleluyah to Jesus!

Jesus reads and knows what we require now

Stop worrying, look up to Jesus!

Take note that He is the Bread of life, John 6.35

Verse 9 the disciples saw a fire burning

-Fire in the word of God symbolizes

-purification

-newness

-holiness

-cooking (process of sourcing and preparation and serving and eating]

This nice job is done by the lord Jesus Christ

Why did he do this?

Because he

-knows me and also loves me

-he knows my needs

I do not need to be worried but be open to him

Because he is the prince of peace, He will minister peace in my storm

He is the mighty counselor thus will counsel me when things are not working out.

He is the mighty I am, the one I can fully depend upon him.

On top of the fire was fish

Heavy breakfast and rich in valuable protein

It is the fish that was being baked on the fire ready to be eaten

Friends, fish here stands for you and I

God wants to work and fears, anxiety, worry and cares of the world.

Are you ready to change?

Fire changes raw food into cooked food

Jesus finally declares that just by depending on me

All, All not some but ALL.

All you can do is DEPEND on him and the rest is history.

I wonder if there is any body who is ready to join me in having Jesus totally in command of my life.

Now I release love, favor and God’s love into your lives in Jesus’ name.

Believe it take, for this is God’s word

Amen!

And now may God’s blessing be added to His word
