GENESIS 37.18-29
PIT – is a deep underground
Place of destiny and
forgetfulness
Dungeon
The pit is a place
where:-
1. Memories are eradicated
2. Complete eradication is made
Tunic of many colors

4. Ones security is guaranteed
People are insecure with your presence, ability, agility and how you dispense your responsibility
People are insecure with your presence, ability, agility and how you dispense your responsibility
But the pit is only
an avenue, a passage way to what Jehovah wants to do in my life
They may plan destruction, but out of it, God is working victory for me.
Siblings and spouse
are scared of your authority, even your boss
You will be put in a
pit [accused, provoked, persecuted or even prosecuted, things may be planted on
you or against you] by your close associates,
The ones who are
supposed to be your keeper
And when asked of the
same they will wonder if ever they were your keeper. Remember Cain?
Food for thought!
My encouragement,
take heart it is only because you are in the porter’s hands and such like
things do not miss in pot making
A couple went out to
buy souvenir item to celebrate their anniversary.
So they settled on a
cup whose glittering nobody could afford not to pick it out?
When
they picked the cup it spoke and said do not just look at how shinny I am, it
has been a long way coming here.
I was
once enjoying myself and my acquired status when the potter came for me
He took
me and forced me through a sieve how painful I felt as I was squeezed through.
As if
this was not enough he made me more uncomfortable by mixing me with cold water
and started mixing me up until I become soft to be used for molding.
This
exercise made me the more un-happy and un-comfortable.
But the
potter was not bothered by my rhetoric and continued murmuring
When
the dough was soft enough he put me on the molding wheel.
At
first I really enjoyed the spinning, but as time continued I felt dizzy and
almost falling down
However,
the potter was not convinced until I was formed completely in the shape of a
cup did he remove me from the spinning wheel and put me in a shade to dry.
I felt
totally relieved and happy that at last I had found relief.
To the
potter, this was not to be, the journey was still a long away to be covered
No
sooner had I dried than the potter took me and placed me in a hot oven.
The
temperatures here were not only tempting, but breath taking. I could not help
it but also was deprived off the energy to escape. Gasping for air and what it
takes to survive, but the ability was restrained.
Then as
a sigh of relief the doors flung open and I was pulled out.
How
great I felt to breathe the clean fresh air as he placed me on the rack to
cool.
I looked
at myself and said wow goodness me. How beautiful I stood out. The old
semblance was gone and I could not help but cherish my new appearance.
A
second glance by the potter and he pulled me up only to land in the kiln again
but this time I passed out because the temperatures here were 7 times the
former.
I cried
out and pleaded my course, but the master potter could here none of this.
After a
while I was removed allowed to cool on the shelf before being polished.
Then
and only then did the potter accept to put me on the display for sale.
Do not
just look at my beauty for the process of coming this far has been a herculean
task.
The
couple agreed and said indeed this is the precious gift we were looking for.
As you look over your
life are you able to go through all these stages and come out glorifying Jesus?
Think about it!!
As the cup was
focused and persevered likewise do the same.
Luke 21.5 and
following
Kindly take note of
verse 16-19 ‘And you shall be betrayed both by parents, and brothers; and kinfolks,
and friends; and some of you shall be put to death. And you shall be hated of
all men for my name’s sake. But there shall not be a hair of your head that
will perish. In your patience posses ye your souls’.
Take heart beloved of
God. Do not let your dream go!
Push on! Yes! Pray
until something happens.
Halleluiah to Jesus!!
The evil they are
planning, God is bringing good your way
In this passage we
read the word PIT appears six times. Six is the number of man
-man labors for six
days
-the sixth
commandment talks about man, ‘thou shall not murder’
-666 is the number of
the antichrist.
-this is a mockery of
the trinity.
Jeremiah 18.20
‘Shall evil be
recompensed for good? They have dug a pit for my soul. Remember that I stood
before you to speak good for them and to turn away your wrath from them’.
Leaders must first
learn to lead themselves so as to attract others to themselves.
Examples of some of
the bible men who were persecuted:-
1. Joseph’s brothers,
Potiphar’s wife, King’s servants
2. David brothers, King Saul, his son
Absalom
3. Jesus -betrayed by a confidant in the
name of Judas
-deserted by his
disciples at the hour of need
-denied by the
whole assembly, Luke 23.1
-Herod (King,
rulers over you), spouse, children, close friends or confidant)
-Pilate, Priests,
Rulers [church workers or even competitors]
-criminals Luke
23.32
Soldiers mocked
him [compromised security]
4. Daniel food
and worship was his main areas of testing, Daniel 1.12-13
-image of Gold and fiery furnace,
Daniel 3.13
-Den of lions, Daniel 6.4[group]
Daniel 6.23
God’s time is coming
Wait inside the
persecution.
Our God is the God
who speaks peace within the storm not far of it.
It is only when the
faith of Shadrack, Meshack and Abednego was completely displayed that Jesus
appeared as the forth person. The lord will repay you for your tough moments.
But one thing you
have to do is to persist in the situation as you wait on the Lord.
This is not time to
complain, whine and burble.
It is only after
Joseph had finished his wilderness encounter that he ascended to the throne of
the prime minister of Egypt
But to get here, he
had to conquer the Pit, Prison so as to
qualify to be a Prime minister
Hold on to your
calling and do not faint!
Blessings in Jesus’ name!
