PRINCIPLE 2 LOVE IS KIND
This is a gentle or benevolent nature. Friendly in ones conduct to a person showing friendliness or being affectionate. Does this describe me or what is it portending? And when we are asked whether we love God, all hand go up. How did you react in the last chama meeting? Reflecting, truthfully do your actions resonate with kindness. Look at it the way, Jesus demonstrated kindness. He was a friend to the sinners and terribly accused of associating with the so called villains in society. The Pharisees were very good at this blame game, but Jesus knowing he was love, he concentrated in fulfilling this mandate rather than engage in mundane arguments. Just look at the way he treated Peter in John 20.15-18. He only required some genuine humbling from Peter after the ordeal of his denial of him. He looked straight into the eyes of a worked up Peter and told him lovingly "feed my sheep".
To be a shepherd and especially tending after sheep is not a easy fete. It requires special grace, determination and resolve to tend them. What Jesus is simply saying to us is to expect the road ahead to be bumpy and sometimes the relations will be frosty but the bottom line, exercise love at its best. You are bound to encounter mountains and high mountains and steep valleys but as you stand before them remember he is a lamp unto your feet and a light unto your path. He is the sure guide who also promises never to leave you or forsake you. His name is God or love defined. All challenges not withstanding, as a product of love, child of the most High it is expected of you and I to exercise kindness at its level ebb. Do not mind whether it is hurting, enjoyable or not quite convincing after all the things of God to the carnal mind do not appear to make sense.Kindness has a price. As they say outside there, it might be called pretense, disguise or even trying to look good to win some favor, but be encouraged son of God, you are a seed of love and as the potential in you necessitates you will bring forth fruit after your kind which is love. After all maize begets maize. No apologies! Amen!
