THE PRINCIPLES OF LOVE
LOVE DOES NOT ENVY
1Corinthians 13. 4
Envy is being resentful or admiring contemplation of more fortunate person, of, at his advantages. Love has no feelings, is not vengeful and does not keep records. You have no ill feeling when a brother who was a nobody yesterday, in fact it is you who prayed for him and when you look at him, it is like the hand of God has been turned against you, yet he is smiling all the way to the bank and reveling in blessing, Yet you raise up your hands in praise to the living God. But when you look at him and it is as is a huge very hot potato is stuck in your throats then brother there is an assignment and a big one ahead of you. The spirit of envy is well at work in you. The pronouncements of love are only coming from your mouth but deep down your heart some spiritual surgery needs to take place since you are seriously ailing and just about to succumb to your illness.
Friends, this illness called envy is ailing the body of Christ and has to be addressed as a matter of urgency. People are good at pontificating, wearing plastic smiles that are not consistent with what reigns in their hearts. When love is in you , i.e. God dwelling in you envy becomes a no go zone. Truth be said this vice should not be allowed to take root in our hearts. It is an irritant. It shames the name of the lord. Job 5.2 Resentment kills a fool envy slays the simple. Simply put, resentment is meant for a fool and if you are looking for spiritual death, then look no further for envy will slay you.
As a child of God, you are not that simple. You are a loaded dynamite just waiting to explode when provoked by the devil.Psalm 139.13 "For you created my inmost being; you knit together in my mother's womb'. God expects you to amaze, dazzle, exude wonderfulness and bring out the treasure that is hidden in you as his child. Cease from being simple by entrusting his word into your heart. David says "Your word have I hidden in my heart that I may not sin against you" God created you a victor and not a victim. Live like one. You have the power and grace to overcome and defeat envy. Defeat it in Jesus' name.
If only you realize whom you are through Christ Jesus by the shed blood of the cross then you will understand why it is important that you deleted envy from you in box (heart). This is the example we pick from David the man after God's own heart, "I will praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Come out from the bondage of envy. Stop being simple by embracing envy, neither embrace resentment for this will equate you to a fool. No one even a fool loves to be identified by this name. By the way who is a fool? who likes to be silly? James 3.16 "For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.
Choose the love of Christ remonstrate against envy and show love. This way the blessings of God will have abode at your heart of hearts.Believe it, Act it and Live it. Amen!!
