THE WILL OF GOD

LUKE22.42-46

MATHEW 6.10

‘’Tunakusifu, tunakuabudu wewe ni Bwana
Tunakusifu twakuabudu ni wewe tu pekee yako
Mtakatifu wewe ni Bwana’’

Mathew 6.10
‘’Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven’’
God’s will is always the best for us.
However, good the will of God is for us, only a yielded and submitted soul can count it good.
Unless our bodies die: - so that we find gain in living for Christ, there is nothing worth dying for in the will of God.
God’s will is always easier said than done most often.
But if you do understand what it is, it helps us not to fall into temptation.
It is easier to encourage a brother/sister but wait until the will of God knocks on our door with some ‘’outrageous demands’’
God’s will is so amazing, He never forces His will on us rather He gives us chance to choose.
What is ‘’ will’’?

Greek word Prothumia
Forward in spirit not an after thought
                        Forwardness of mind
                        Readiness of mind
To have the will of God is thus to be ready mind wise
It is to act without force or coercion
To flow freely
Act in acceptance with the direction of God
Praise is to the King of Kings!
Act without pleading an accident as an excuse!
Back to Jesus
This is the son of God
He is the word that came to give witness about the light.
You expect Jesus to flow with the system but wait till you hear this!
Luke 22.42
‘’And said Jesus unto them, why sleep ye? Rise and pray, lest ye enter into temptation’’.
This was not a wild cry
Neither was it a cry of desperation
This prayer was necessary bearing in mind the weight that stood before my Lord and savior.
Between him and the will of God was the sin of the world
Conquering this had taken quite some effort.
The prophets, Priests and teachers had all been tried without much success.
God even tried the blood of bulls the much this could do was to cover sin but not wash away the sin nor wipe away the guilt.
The outer was made beautiful while the inside man remained more tainted with sin.
Friend, hear me and do hear me good.
When the time for the will of God arrives in your life, brave yourself for confrontation, challenges, provocation, name calling as well as loneness.
Jesus had gone to pray knowing his hour had come
It was not a coincidence neither was it an accident.
He knew about it and took with him confidants
However, these guys failed the test. They could not tarry in prayer even for one hour. How, do you manage your prayer life?
Or it is pegged on crisis prayer?
Maombi ya kushutuka na ya kutokea!
But when the time to stand up to the will of God came calling, I need not remind you, he was all alone.
When pursing the will of God, this will happen quite often!
Be ready and rather work in a prepared mode!
Fulfilling the will of God will not be pleasant at times and the price to achieve it is also quite dear.
Jesus did it by having his blood flowing freely as a sacrificial lamb. There was no restriction to it. Ilibidi hii damu yake imwagike. Hii damu iliyo bubujika ni ya Immanuel.
What are you ready to achieve with this blood my friend?
Imagine my Lord declaring and not feigning, ‘’The spirit is willing But the flesh/body is weak’’ mark 14.38 ‘’Watch ye and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak’’.
Accepting the will of God is accepting the drink offering of his cup.
Rather, it is being ready to undergo or experience challenges, sufferings, painstaking times etc.
Family and or friends may forsake you but my encouragement stay inside there.
Your time is coming!
Today Jesus is seated up in heaven at the right hand of the father after he overcame sin and death.
You are on the path to conquering and overcoming but you have to forebear a little bit.
Do not crush out neither think not of giving up!
Quitting is not an option
The only option not the better or best option is to drink the cup of the will of God in faith, love and with thanksgiving.
This will mean that you do not live pegged on the standard of man.
Your standards have to be those of heaven above where you have been called upward.
For your spirit to grow and be nourished you have to travail in prayer.
Eat the rich word of Jehovah; spend quality time waiting up the living God. Call until heavens come through with an answer.
God’s will is attained by allowing the real me to be taken over and allowing the Spirit of God to reign.
In Paul’s words, it is to allow this tent of ours to be taken over and be inhabited with the Lord of glory.
Living God’s will is readiness to drink from the deep.
Psalm 23.1-
The lord is my shepherd; I shall not want
He maketh me to lie down in green pasture ‘sio ki sungura bali chini macho yamefungwa ‘’: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Yea. Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy stuff they comfort me.
Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of my enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercies shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
This requires risk takers.
Look at Jesus, he is literally starring at death but he forges on.
Later on he declares emphatically that in thy hands I place my spirit.
It takes such a conviction to say ‘’let the will of God be done in my life’’.
It is not easy but this is the life of a believer. Choose brother, choose sister choose!
Friends do not be deceived that this was a desperate last minute prayer.
It was genuine seeking of divine intervention at the most crucial hour. At the time of your most desperate need.
The best prayer to pray is ‘’father let thy will be done’’
Say as if you mean it
Say it as if this is what your life depends upon.
When Jesus spoke this words, heaven opened up and came down to him
Luke 22.43 ‘’And there appeared and angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him’’
Heaven will avail strength ability and power for you to go through the mountains and giants in your life.
Do not give up
Hope in the lord...
The will of God is not subject to our will
Rather the opposite is true.
His will is divine, very heavenly and full of our good and our futures as well as giving us hope.
But the price to pursuing God’s will is sacrifice
Missing out on some of the worldly ‘’important things’’ for the sake of God.
The same will happen for you. The spirit of God himself will come through for you in miraculous ways.
He will meet your needs in Christ Jesus.
Answer your prayers even before you pray.
The lord will make you the head and not the tail
You will go over and not under
Jehovah will lay a table and fill your cup before your enemies.
The authority of God will come over your life, so that when you speak, people will listen with attention to your wisdom.
Be ready for the lord is declaring his favor upon your life just as he did for Mary the mother of our lord Jesus Christ.
The lord himself will be your peace during your storm. For it is him who ministers to the storm and it understands his language.
The lord will keep you in perfect peace for your eyes are stayed on him. Isaiah 26.3
God’s will might be mind boggling but one truth is that it stands the test of time.
He does not do things the way we do neither does He perceives them the way we do.
Before anything is formed he knows the beginning from the end.
He is the one who works in mysterious ways.
Jesus’ redemption for you and I can only be experienced if we are ready to pursue the will [way] of God for our lives.
Pursuing God has its own costs and challenges
It is important to count the costs and align yourself to the challenge ahead.
The angel came and encouraged Jesus from the portion of scripture that we read.
And then his sweat was like blood
Utamu wa wokovu huonekana baada ya uchungu wa kuvumilia!
The blessing of patience is rewarded at the table of trials!
Jesus has to be encouraged in prayer to carry the cross by an angel.
So shall it be with you also.
The lord has sent us his Holy Spirit who is our counselor, teacher and comforter.
You shall never walk alone.
The bible declares if the lord is on our side, who shall be against us?
Mathew 28.20c
‘’And surely I am with you always until the end of the age’’
J.A.F.N
I AM with you, not I will
My God is the God of now not later or tomorrow!
Bwana asifiwe sana!
That is what God is making for you right now
Stop looking over there!
Close your ears from listening to what you are listening to now.
Pursue the will of God and TRULY the I AM is with you.
And now I stand here as servant of the most high
My only simple question is how ready are you to pursue, yield and live the will of God?
This worship song will help us search our souls;
Kama siyo wewe
Ningekuwa wapi mimi
Umejawa na rehema na neema tele

Nimwabudu nani mimi
 Kama siyo wewe
Hakuna mwingine wa kumwabudu
Ila ni wewe Jehovah

Shalom peace is with you, amen!
