LUKE
24.1-12
Dead:-
Means inactive, un-movable, horror, sight not worthy beholding
Smelly, that cannot be withstood
Rotten
Dark, withdrawn life
Spiritually:
Without power to deal with
forces of darkness
Bright, alive
Sweet aroma –depicts sacrifice of praise, the fruit of our lips
Alive and alight to the illumination of the Lord Jesus Christ
The disciples had
been told by non other than Jesus in Luke 9.22
‘The son of man must
suffer many things, and be subjected to of the elders and chief priests and
scribes and be slain, and be raised the third day.
Mark 8.31 ‘And he
began to teach them, that the son of man must suffer many things, and be
subjected of the elders, and of the chief priests, and scribes and be killed,
and after three days rise again’.
The disciples in this
case you and I are like rained on chicken
They look like an
army that is besieged, flogged all night and awaiting trial
They are totally
whittled down and powerless
Above all the fear
they had been told not to fear is the one reigning supreme in them.
And to them their
case is absolute, there seems to be no remedy
To worsen matters
they were hiding all but in one place fearing for the worst and wondering in
case of execution who would be next after their master Jesus the Christ could
not be spared the wrath of death.
This minister to most
of us this is the situation we find ourselves in most of the time or are in
right now.
But some women
somewhere gathered extraordinary energy and purposed to get the body of my lord
anointed with oil, just to preserve it a bit longer. Albeit their effort was in
futility because Jesus had declared but it in no uncertain terms, ‘I will pull
down this temple and rebuild it up in three days’
But no one not even
Peter could remember these words
Remember he was
called the rock on home Christ would build the church and the gates of Hades
could not prevail against it’
Amazing the times we
find ourselves done by our efforts and mostly we succumb to the vagaries of
sin.
We simply say ‘I
forgot or I fear for my life, I do not know what to do’
This is the
unfortunate situation the disciples of Jesus found themselves in.
And you and I many at times are at such cross
roads.
The disciple had
completely forgotten the word and his promise that whosoever believes in me
will never die
But the scenario here
paints a totally different picture
Thus, these women
decided to go and preserve the dead be it anointing as they gladly put it.
These term they used
are the equivalent of what terms we employ when cornered by Satan.
It same as maintain
the status quo, just allow the body to remain in the tomb and not decompose so
that we can start another service for and of the dead
Back to the women as
they embark on the journey, the big issue crops up
Who is going to
remove the stone from the tomb for us?
This leads to worry
But thank God for He
works in mysterious ways. His ways are not our ways
He is awesome, the
Almighty, all knowing and always available when we need Him most
He is called Jehovah
Jireh, the Lord our provider for on the mountain of the lord it shall be
provided.
But better the move
these women tried out than the eleven gentlemen who were dying under the element
of great fear.
Friends where is your
faith during dark hours of your life?
In whom do you take
refuge in times so difficult you cannot foretell where help will come from?
Train your eyes onto
Jesus the author and finisher of your faith; who for the joy set before him
endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of
the throne of God. For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners
against himself lest you be wearied and faint in your minds. Hebrews 12.2-3
Where is your faith
in such turmoil?
And as they were
wondering, the angel un-leashed the bombshell
Why are you looking
for the living among the dead? He is risen he is not here, remember how he
spoke to you while he was yet in Galilee Luke 24.6
My deepest concern is
the lack of faith
Friends are these
familiar grounds that we find ourselves in sometimes or it is just me?
I wonder and if so do
wonder aloud.
I question why the
slow speed of belief?
Why the short stock
of memory at such a critical hour?
As the angel is
ministering to these dear mothers, the opposite is true the devil has cornered
Peter and company.
The tool he is
employing, FEAR
I am ministering to
somebody; do these cases seem familiar if not similar?
Child of the most
high God, why are you looking for your answer to your problem from the world?
How come you trust
people most with your issues than telling Jesus?
We are quick to share
our challenges with men yet heaven is open 24/7
Jeremiah 33.3 ‘Call
unto me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you
do not know.
Call heaven and stop
being held at ransom by the polite response from safaricom called ‘mteja wa
nambari uliyo piga hapatikani kwa sasa.
Call heaven and the
answer will come in record speed accompanied with things so mighty than you had
thought about.
Why are you looking
for your answers to you problems from the world?
Friend what hell are
you doing with the dead? The dead are destined for the grave.
That is their place

This signifies the
following:-
1. Lack of alertness. Ephesians 5.8
2. Worries and cares of the world Luke 8.14
3. Dimmed or hidden lamp Luke 8.16
4. Lack of faith Hebrews 11.6
5. Deep fear (both for the known and unknown)
John 20.19
The fearful die
several times before they die. But the bold only die once
In Jesus there is
life
There is a future
A tomorrow that is
better than what today has on offer.
Why do I believe
this?
Because He is my God
He is my creator
Knows my thoughts
Knows the words in my tongue
even before I speak them
Has all the answers to the
questions that I have
Knew me before I was fashioned
in my mother’s womb
Appointed me a prophet to the
nations
The words I say are
not mine; I am only a voice, a messenger to the nations
Neither can I change
this word for it is a fire burning within me. Jeremiah 20.9
Nor can I withhold it
for it will crush me like a sledging hammer. Jeremiah 23.29

Come out of your fear
and be real, face out the lord and confess your ways unto him and he will make
your paths straight.
Activate the word
And be alive in the
lord Jesus Christ
