Definition of the word of God

• A manifestation of the MIND and WILL of God

• The sacred writings of the Christian religion

• The message of the gospel of Christ

Generally referred to as Divine Goodness

HEBREWS 4.12

The bible, so called because the writers of its several books were God’s organs in communicating His will to men.

It is the word because it speaks to us its scared pages.

Whatever the inspired writers here declare to be true and binding upon us, God declares to be true and binding.

The word is infallible because written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit and therefore free from error of fact or doctrine or precept.

All saving knowledge is obtained from the word of God.

John 17; 17

Sanctify them through thy truth; thy word is truth

2Timothy3.15, 16

And from childhood thou hast known the Holy Scripture, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

All scripture is inspired of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness

1Petre1.23

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever

‘This word is quick, and powerful and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart’ Hebrews 4.12

We are a creation of words

Genesis 1.26

And God said; Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have domino over the fish, sea, fowl, air, earth and every creeping thing on the face of earth

Verse 28 ‘And God blessed them and God said unto them

Please not the emphasis blessed them and again said

BLESS:-

−         Decree i.e. declare the power of God in man

−         Declare favour using  divine words i.e. bring forth God’s gracious power

−         Speak forth goodness

−         Eulogeitos ‘is an adjective meaning ‘Well spoken of, praised’

−         Eulogew ‘is a verb ‘to speak well of, to praise: to call down God’s gracious power’

−         Eulogia ‘Is a noun form meaning ‘praise , fine speaking’

−         To make sacred with blood, in this case the blood of Jesus ; to hallow something

This being the case the word of god is our only scepter.

It thus follows that without the word you are on your own.

What God speaks is what stands.

It time we refused to be the creation of men.

I refuse to be the creation of any word spoken to me.

Words have power

Abram is the best example Genesis 12.2

‘And I will make you into a great nation and I will bless you and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing’

Genesis 13.2

And Abram was very rich in cattle, in silver and in gold

Abram allowed the word that God spoke over his life take effect and the results are without question.

He left Ur with nothing and here we are told he was exceedingly rich.

It just takes a higher authority to speak to your life and things will never be the same again

You should not allow your life to be dictated by the nay Sayers in your life.

Your destiny is in our hands yes but for you to be propelled to he next level, you need a higher authority to speak the living word over your life.

Do no allow your life to be determined by any body

People look at how you look like but Jehovah is seeing the potential in you

Some are looking and your incapacities, my Redeemer is looking at how you are becoming a great nation

People saw in Moses a stammerer and a shepherd of his father in-law [can’t understand Moses but God saw DELIVERER of the children of Israel

That why he asked him what is that in your hand

Friends listen to this voice, surely what is it that is God’s blessed you with?

When you do it you feel as if indeed there is someone there

Listen to the word that speaks to you

When David’s brother saw a small shepherd boy with running nose, David envisioned the God’s hand of deliverance upon his life.

When the Israelite army saw Goliath to be a mighty warrior and a terrible sight to behold, David on the other hand was asking what will be done to the man that will kill this uncircumcised Philistine. 1Sam 17.26

Your perception determines your direction. There are people who will want to slow you down, pull you down, derail you and even break your heart.

But encourage your self in the Lord just as David did.

He was bulldozed by his brothers

Infarct they thought he was a joker

Then envy and jealousy settled in

The king tried to improve him

But I am encouraged by what David said. Madoido sijazoea

I am original and not ready to become someone’s photocopy

When it goes on for long please give a testimony of exactly what the Lord has done in your life.

Let the world know you are not a creation of man, rather mud in the hands of the master craftsman.

I am not yet final rather I am awaiting further instructions to be what God wants me to be.

That is why I am reading the word and allowing it to define me.

Do not expect me to tell you this is how I do things, but expect me to direct you to the word

Refuse to be what somebody else wants you to be so that he can chest thump.

And David girded his sword upon his amour, and he assayed to go: for he not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him..

The problem with today’s Christian is we have become people pleasers. There is scarcity of David mentality, men and women who ascribe to the authority of the word.

People today over rely on the word the pastor or other people say.

Count me out and excuse me because I will disappoint you.

The WORD OF God to me is paramount

John 1.11 He came to his own but his own received him not

He was in the world and the world was made by him and the world knew him not’vs10

What is in the world today is the love of the flesh

That is why people love fashion, are showing off their breasts and their thighs

The rallying call ‘IT IS THE HEART THAT IS SAVED AND NOT THE BODY’

That why we have the virtual world where we encourage men to watch adult videos

You are what you read a product of the word. If you eat the word of life you live. The opposite is true.

Allow me to declare that you are just a word away from your inheritance

Get out and find who this that has got your word is.

Psalm 119.11 thy word have I hidden in my soul that I may not sin against you.

Psalm91.1 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the Most high, shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty

Those who entirely make the lord their abode will remain rooted in the lord comfort and shadow.

Joshua 1.8

This book shall not depart from your mouth, but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written threin: for thou shalt make thy way prosperous and then thou shall have good success.

It means the word is part and parcel of our daily life. There is no substitute of the word.

By the way it is important to note that we are talking about the word and not the word.

The word is a person-John 1.1

The word was flesh John1.14

This word is the truth John 17.17

The word is living as we speak Hebrews4.12

Everything that happens on earth needs the word. When Abraham with all that he had , just needed the word to propel him to his destiny. After Melchisedeck blessed him and Abraham offered a tithe, Abraham never fought in any other war

You and I seriously need the word to take us to the new level. We have mark timed for quite some time it is time for FORWARD MARCH and quick MARCH for that matter.

But for you to actualize this, you need the word.

Deuteronomy 8.3 ‘that you may know that man does not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceeded from the mouth of God ‘

This is what we need.

I care less about what the world is saying, but that which comes from the mouth of Jehovah.

This word is flawless: Proverbs 30.5

Maneno ya watu ya mejaa makosa uonga Na hata fitina

But the word of God is perfect. It is ordained to produce like minded people who from sin are perfected into the righteousness of God.

 2Sanuel 22.31

‘As for God his way is perfect; the word of the lord is tried; He is a buckler to all who trust in Him’

And for you only one requirement is needed.

Psalm 119;9

How can a young man make his life pure? By living according to the word of God.

‘Thy WORD have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you’

David here is giving us the cardinal secret of living the word, speaking the word and also practicing the word.

Hide it in your heart.

This is a great treasure the word.

If you do not, the cares of the world will sweep it away.

The bible speaks of the word of God as SEED.

LUKE 8.1-11 

There are so many things that intercept the word and this is simply because it is a treasure

Unfortunately many of us do not know this.

1.       Hearers who do not remember the word, the devil knows its power and effect so takes it way vs12

2.       Exciters hear the word and say that was AWESOME but have no roots to grow the seed. Just give them time and temptation you will not see them hata Kwa fellowship. Vs 13

3.       People pleasers who are looking for good commendation from the public gallery. Vs14

They fall any where, see a beautiful lady and the knees start dancing.

4.       Honest and good hearted.

On hearing the word, KEEP IT and BRING FORTH LIFE.

There is power in seed

A forest was once a seed

Seed signified hidden potential that has to be accorded the right environment for it to thrive.

It you who will determine whether the word in you thrives or die.

Be like David when he had accomplished God’s purpose he rested unlike Saul who just died.

The word is like fire Jeremiah 23.29

It is a refiner.

If and when you come into contact with the word, you will never be the same again

It is also a hammer that knocks off all unwanted baggage in a believer’s life.

The word of God cannot co-exist with any other staff except purity

It indwells. Colossians 3.16

It dwells in the inside, not near or by the side.

When the word gets hold of you the word does not leave you. James 1.22

Do not merely listen, activate the word in you.

 He promises never to forsake us or leave us. He will be with us until the end of the race.

Mathew 24.35. When the word is spoken it has to fulfill what it is intended to achieve

Isaiah 55.11
